The S&P500 Index has done very well, and only some of the most talented investors around have managed to generate better returns – and you can include Peter Lynch in that list.
Lynch is known mostly from his management of the Fidelity Magellan fund, where he beat the S&P500’s annual growth for 11 of the 13 years that he was there (up until 1990). He consistently achieved more than double the index’s yearly returns and helped lift the organization’s assets from $18 million to $14 billion in value.
