Bruno Iksil was the face behind the infamous ‘London Whale’ scandal, which led to JPMorgan Chase incurring over $6 billion in losses. He was found to be essentially gambling on transactions using a long series of credit default swaps that backfired on him.
Eventually, the bank had was forced to admit it broke the law and had to pay about $920 million to settle charges brought to them by the SEC that related to the scandal. Two of Bruno’s co-workers also had criminal charges placed against them.
